About
For the 20th anniversary of Ukrainian Fashion Week, 20 best Ukrainian fashion designers and 20 talented artists created 20 creative artworks based on fashion designer's collections for the for ELLE magazine's FASHION+ART project in 2017. All of them were presented as part of Ucrainian Fashion Week September 4-9, 2017, in the "Mystetskyi Arsenal" in Kiev, Ukraine.
My partner in this project was designer Lilia Poustovit Lilia Poustovit. The goal of the project is art in fashion and their collaborations in the World.
Inspired by the changing seasons and our tendency to dress according to the weather, my artwork revolves around the concept of the Four Seasons of Nature. To represent this idea, I divided the painting into four equal canvases, each depicting a different season: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.
For each part of the Artwork, I used different color gamuts wich symbolizing the unique characteristics of each time of year. The prints of Lilia Poustovit collection 2017 were used as decorative elements of fabrics. And I incorporated the architectural elements of both the Old and New city of Kyiv (Ukraine) to symbolize the vibrant and colorful atmosphere that people bring to the streets of these cities.Technique
The painting was additionally primed with black ground and black imprimatura. For the image of the architectural elements, I used the texture paste so these elements on my Artwork are volume. Then a layer of oil paints was applied. It was interesting for me to connect Four Parts.
